BARBARA HOCKADAY / SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN

Featuring

Opening tonight, the brilliant BARBARA HOCKADAY in SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN at Salisbury Playhouse where it plays 5 – 28th May before touring to co-producers, the New Vic Newcastle-under-Lyme and Bolton Octagon before the end of July.

Made famous by stunning tap dance routines, memorable music and on-screen chemistry between screen legends Debbie Reynolds and Gene Kelly, Singin’ in the Rain will be performed in all its Technicolor glory, featuring live music, dance and, of course, rain!

Silent movie stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are riding high on success, loved by audiences and studio execs – but not by each other! The new era of ‘talkies’ is about to set them even more at odds – spelling disaster for Lina, whose vocal range leaves a lot to be desired…

With a telented company of actor-musicians and featuring all the songs from the MGM film – including Good Morning, Make ‘Em Laugh, You are My Lucky Star and the title song Singin’ in the Rain – this is the perfect night out to send you home with a glorious feeling.

The Octagon’s Artistic Director, Elizabeth Newman, directs.
